The Village of Shields Parks, Culture and Recreation Board is pleased to announce the first “Hub Club” for all our 55 plus residents will take place on September 27-28, 2023.
The Hub Club are monthly gatherings covering a wide range of topics and are under the auspices of the Saskatoon Council on Aging.
Joan Hiebert has kindly offered to kick off our initial gathering with a workshop at “The Hot Shop”, to make “Mosaic Balls”. These beautiful balls can be lit and used outdoors or as indoor decor. The cost of each ball would be in the $60.00 to $100.00 range, depending on the size of the ball chosen. These pieces require sandblasting (to be done by you or by Joan if you are not comfortable doing this process) prior to applying any decorative glass puddles, tiles etc. You are invited to choose a ball at the Hot Shop before September 27th. To complete a ball takes two days, this includes silicone drying time, grouting of the ball, etc. Once complete, they can be fitted with light kits, not supplied in the initial cost. Joan can suggest units for purchase if you so wish.
