April 30th – Week’s Notices

There are a few notices from the office for this week.

  1. Missed Garbage Pick-up

Loraas was unable to pick-up garbage on Hordern street and McCordick Street due to the soft roads in those areas. Operations have been in contact with them, and they will not be able to reschedule a pick-up date. We understand that people’s garbage’s are full so operations will be placing a few empty garbage cans at the end of those streets for residents of Hordern and McCordick to empty their trash into. Please use them sparingly as all garbage’s will not be picked up until the next regular scheduled pick-up date on May 12.

For the recycle pick-up scheduled May 5th, please place your bins outside the night before as operations will come by that morning to move all bins on McCordick and Hordern street to the end of the road where Loraas is able to access them. Bins will be returned to the houses after the pick-up is completed.

  1. Utility Bills

Jan-March utility bills will be sent out the end of this week. Many residents still do not have visible pad readers available for our operations team to access when checking water meter reads. In March 2024 bylaw 2/24 was passed and section 7(g) says ‘All Subscribers who do not have a pad reader installed, connected and operational by June 10th 2024, are subject to an additional charge added to each utility bill moving forward, as outlined in Appendix A.’

I understand that the $25 charge has not been applied over this last year. We will not be applying this charge for Q1 bills, but please ensure that you have your pad reader installed before the end of June as we will be applying this charge moving forward.

  1. Controlled Burn in Outlaws Ravine

Operations will be conducting a controlled burn in outlaws ravine today. They have notified the Dundurn Fire Chief, and all safety protocols will be followed.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me.

Thanks,

Jessica Arguin
