I know many people are anxious to know about the garbage pick-up situation. We have been in communication with Loraas this week and we are not the only community who has been missed. The weather we had has created very challenging conditions for the heavy garbage trucks and I have been told that several accidents have happened.
Because of this, we will not be able to reschedule a pickup and we will need to wait until the next regularly scheduled garbage pick-up (Feb 19th). Loraas has informed me that if you have so much waste that you bin is overflowing, you can place a garbage bag beside your bin during the next collection. This will not extend to items outside of regular household garbage. I know this is inconvenient, so I apologize for any problems this causes. Regularly scheduled recycling pick-up should happen as scheduled for this Monday.
