Council received and accepted the resignation of councilor Chad Schmidt. We want to extend our sincere gratitude to Chad for his time served on council from September 2024 -February 2026. With this resignation, council determined to schedule a by-election to fill this vacant councilor seat for April 18th, 2026. Please see:

As a reminder – We have an election taking place tomorrow for a council seat that was vacated in October 2025, this election cannot serve to fill the seat that was just vacated, the process must begin over again, so new nominations can be accepted.
The election tomorrow will run from 9:00am -8:00pm in the community hall located at 8 Procter Drive, Shields, SK. Please remember to bring valid government ID to verify your identity.
