Please be advised that the Wednesday, July 17th regular meeting of the Resort Village of Shields council has been changed to Wednesday, July 24. 7:00 pm. Shields community Hall.
There also appears to be confusion as to when the new council takes effect.
As per The Municipalities Act:
- First meeting of council 121(1) The first meeting of a council following a general election is to be held: (a) within 31 days after the date of the election; and (b) at a time, date and place determined by the administrator.
Although Shields was not required to hold an election, the July 27th Election Date still comes into effect. New councilors will be sworn in at the August regular meeting of council.
