Recently, several residents in our Village have expressed an interest in forming a bi-weekly, “Card Club”. This group would be held at the Community Hall on Friday afternoons and cover any type of card or board game suggested and enjoyed by the club members, for example Rummy, Whist, Canasta, Rummoli, or board games such as Scrabble. We could take turns hosting a different game at each meeting. Also, if desired, refreshments might be on a shared basis as well, a brownie to savor during a hot hand of Rummy never hurts. This type of gathering would help to ensure some socializing and provide a respite from our usual “winter weather talk”.
